Less is more for Sophie – no flamboyant twists and turns, no fireworks, just understated, graceful elegance for this loose-covered bed.

Can you make the head boards taller?

I would like a head board from you (am also looking at your beds with storage - king size). Can you make them 'taller' as I'd like an even grander feel to the bed?

Good morning! Thank you for your question! I am really sorry but we are actually unable to bespoke change any of the dimensions of our headboards - I really hope that isn't too disappointing.

That would depend entirely on the fabric that you wanted to use.
If you have one in mind do please email us at contact@sofa.com with the details of the fabric and then our purchasing department will be able to confirm exactly how many metres will need to be provided and also if any fire treatments are needed.

We don't wish to insult, but we thought that the traditional Chesterfield shape was sometimes a little dumpy, clunky, and not always that comfy. Meet Oscar. More gracefully proportioned, a fraction taller, with longer, more elegant legs, and most importantly, very comfy. Evolution, sofa style.

Montpellier single valance in Cookie

Very elegant is the Montpellier valance. Choose whatever colour you like, and it will be bordered by our dark grey Forest linen, which frankly goes with everything. The bows add a lovely touch, but are not obligatory.

All of our valances are of a standard height.

Fleetwood three seat sofa bed in Cookie

Continental Europe has embraced the "click-clack" sofabed mechanism for decades, whilst us Brits have been a bit slow on the uptake. The "click-clack" movement takes about two seconds to turn this groovy retro style sofa into an excellent bed. Much easier on the pocket than a traditional sofabed, which is a happy coincidence.

The dimensions please?

Whistler three seat in White Sand

Sinking into a cloud, falling onto a pile of marshmallows – listen, whatever cheesy metaphor you care to use, this Whistler sofa is obscenely comfortable, well perhaps not obscenely, but you get the drift – it’s a very good sit indeed. Why? Loads and loads of feathers, a traditional coil spring system, and great dimensions. This is a wonderful sofa that will last pretty much forever, and spread a thick layer of happiness over your life.

Does the Whistler have a sprung base?

If not, which of your sofas do?

We use serpentine springs for the base of all of our sofas! This makes them exceptionally comfortable and exceptionally durable!

How firm is the couch to sit on?

While the couch looks great, I'd like to know whether it's one of those couches you sink into when you sit down, or if there is a firmness to it?

Hi there! This is probably one of our firmer sofas as it doesn't have the big puffy feather layers that a lot of our other sofas have. It feels like you sit more 'on it' rather than sinking down into it, adding to it's contemporary feel!

A round armed classic. Beautiful cigar shaped arms, generous seating, huge feather filled back cushions which you can get lost in – a warm and welcome embrace.

Can the Carrick 3 seather sofabed be dismantled?

It absolutely can be dismantled. The arms can come off and the mechanism can also come out to aid with delivery. It will then be built in the room if necessary by our drivers.

Margot three seat in Lagoon

Margot is most slight, sleek and beautifully proportioned. For example, her total depth is 84cm, which in the wonderful world of sofas is titchy. She is also surprisingly comfy. She is also a knock-out cool design. So what do you get? A beautifully designed, elegant sofa, that takes up refreshingly little space, and remains super-comfy. Not bad really.

Irish showroom?

I'm delighted that you're now delivering to Ireland, but I can't imagine buying a sofa I haven't sat on. Do you have a showroom, or any samples in Ireland?

Emily two and a half seat in Shell

Although feminine by name, you can dress this sofa up with a masculine edge too. The Emily is constructed of neat and simple lines, to create an understated look that carries fabric wonderfully.

are the covers machine washable?

Hello there!
We advise dry cleaning rather than machine washing for all of our fabrics. With the Emily you can take off the seat, back and side bolster cushion covers, the rest of the fabric is fully upholstered to the frame.
